Update: Praise & Prayer

Hello All,

Thanks so much for your prayers these last few weeks.

We have some praise reports and prayer requests to announce. Please continue to co-labor with us in serving, loving and drawing closer to the Lord on the foreign field!

Praise:

1) For a great move to Hungary:

The move to Hungary from Italy was a smooth one. Tony Wilbanks helped us with the move using his van as well. We are incredibly grateful. The Wilbanks have been such a blessing to us in helping us get settled, and of course giving us a warm welcome. We have had a good time so far jumping into service with them and of course much fellowship with them as well! We have to say next to Italian pizza they make a mean homemade pizza in their pizza oven!

An amazing yo-yo competition in Sopron on July 17th: Over all CC Sopron had 25 sponsors from major brand companies all over the world. Five different nations were represented at the contest and many pros came to compete in the last part of it. Also a national news network came and did a piece on it and Tony was interviewed. It was a day God used for His glory! We even praise God for allowing Kai Wilbanks to win his division who we also got in the video. Please check out the video on youtube. Suzie and I put together a little compilation of the day, which shows the amazing talent of some young men. Follow the link below to watch.

3) VBS: On July 19-23 we put on a VBS for the kids in the church and others we invited around town. It was an awesome time to see God come through as we had no place to meet at first. The Lord put this together quickly for us. We did the first half of the morning at the park near by, singing songs and playing sports. Then we moved the other half of the morning to the Wilbanks house where we had snacks, watched “Chronicles of Narnia” and occasionally stopped to share the biblical lesson of the day, and then ended with a craft. We did this everyday for the whole week. We learned later that the parents were very affected by this as they were blessed to see people desiring to take time out of their day to hang out and love their children. What a blessing this week was!

4) Hungarian Residence Permits: We received word after going down last Wednesday to apply for our residence permits that we are approved for them! It only took one week! Praise God for a speedy process. We applied for a five-year permit so we think that this is what they gave us. Dia the lady that helped us with them said we should receive what she had asked for. We thank the Lord for being legal in the EU again :)

Prayer:

1) Residence Permits: We have to pick up our Hungarian residence permits on Monday, August 2nd.Please pray for traveling mercies as it is six hours round trip.

2) Redeeming the time: As we settle into life in Sopron please pray that the Lord would use our time here to accomplish all He desires as we serve, sit, and prepare for Greece.

3) Greek Studies: To learn the Greek language as we begin to study.

4) Church Facility: For a new meeting place for the church here in Sopron. Tony, Frank & Gabor are going to be looking for a space to rent for all the church ministries. Currently our church meetings are on Friday nights because that is the only time that the space that we are using is available. But now we have to leave this place by the end of August. Through this, God has shown Tony that it’s time to move to Sundays. This is an urgent need, please lift this to the Lord with us!

5) Travis & Kirstin Spencer: That the Lord would continue to prepare their hearts for this new move to Greece. Also for provision, a sending church and also that churches and saints would be behind them in their calling.

6) Team preparations for Greece: Currently, we are getting together with the Spencers once a week on Skype to pray and talk. Our hope is that they will be able to join us here in Hungary before going to Greece as it is difficult to prepare and plan when we are so far apart. The Wilbanks are very supportive of this idea. Please pray for God’s will in this.

7) Initial trip to Greece: As soon as the Lord opens the door Frank, Travis, & Tony Wilbanks will be making a trip down to Greece to pray and spy out the land. They will mainly be in Thessaloniki and making a short trip down to Athens. Earlier we had learned of a Christian group called Hellenic ministries located in Athens that is interested in meeting us, learn more about Calvary Chapel ministries and what we are planning to do in Greece . They are a national ran organization that helps various evangelical ministries in Greece with a promise of no strings attached. I (Frank) would hope to learn more about them and their ministry when we meet.

8) Ministry Opportunities: Please pray for Tony and Frank this week. Tony is leading worship on Sunday at CC Vienna, Austria (only about an hour away) and Frank is teaching at City Light Christian Fellowship in Bratislava (CC Bratislava, Slovakia) on Sunday August 8. He is covering for Patrick Higgins who is on furlough with his family in the States.

9) Financial Provision: Please continue to pray for the Lord’s provision as we are still facing some large issues and needs.

Thank you all for your love and prayers!

Frank & Suzie
